Thank you to all of the teachers, students, and organizations who participated in our Education program at the 47th Mill Valley Film Festival!
We had an incredibly enthusiastic audience joining us for our in-person screenings and a robust number of students watching online and remotely in their classrooms. CAFILM Education had over 30 schools participating in our 14 in-person screening screenings. We reached over 4,000 film loving students in our in person and online screenings; 60 students participated in our Filmmakers Go To School program; and over 60 general public individuals attending our free community screening of our unique, MVFF47 Education program.
CAFILM Education staff take pride in how we engage filmmakers and students with our insightful and engaging post- screening conversations. This year at Mill Valley Film Festival, we conversed with students about disability visability, the power of art in rehabilitation and our shared love for cats. We covered the following cities with our online and in-person offerings: Mill Valley, San Rafael, Vallejo, San Francisco, Alameda, Oakland. Being in the theater, among good company, never felt better.
Thank you all for joining us this year. See you next October!
EDUCATOR TESTIMONIALS
“This is a meaningful experience! This is for many students their first film fest ever!”
“The students loved the opportunity to see an educational and engaging film! They really appreciated the messaging and they connected to the characters in the film as peers and understood what they were going through.”
“Our students always love watching the films and experiencing the meet and greet with the directors:)”
“Such powerful stories and thoughtful speakers.”
“Many of my students left wanting to create their own animations. The fact that they were able to see the creators in real life seemed to help them see animation as something attainable. With Pixar across the street, one would think our students are exposed to the possibilities within the film world, but sadly they are not. Thank you for this opportunity.”
“The bus was extremely helpful in making this program doable for our students. We really appreciate it, and the students took away so much for watching the student films in this year’s festival!”
